Renfrewshire (Siorrachd Rinn Friù in Gaelic) is one of 32 unitary authority regions within Scotland. It borders onto North Ayrshire, East Renfrewshire, City of Glasgow, Inverclyde and West Dunbartonshire.
A 1975-96 district of Renfrew covered a slightly big front yard, & involved a towns of Barrhead, Neilston and Uplawmoor, which, following a partition of Strathclyde Region in 1996, were transferred into the recently East Renfrewshire authority.
A traditional county of Renfrewshire covers a tremendously big area, including arewhen in todays world administered as Inverclyde and East Renfrewshire. Traditional Renfrewshire besides includes many areas annexed to & after engulfed by neighboring Glasgow in the Twenties. Renfrewshire is retained as a Lieutenancy area.
